Our Program: Kids Club
Our Kids Club program runs for 12 weeks from January 13th – March 3rd, 2011 on Thursday from 6 – 8PM, at The Reptile Store Summer Camp. This is an evening program designed for children 8-15 years of age. Each night will concentrate on different topics regarding animals and the ecosystems in which they reside. During our two hours each week we will create crafts, play games, participate in activities and discussions, and look at live animals, all within the week’s theme.
Participants will have lots of hands on animal experience during our Kids Club program. The classes will be largely taught by our young “Leaders In Training” as an extension of their 2010 training program. This will allow our LIT’s to develop a full program with each LIT focusing on one specific night’s agenda. These programs will all be brand new content. Camp staff will be supervising each and every week to ensure the quality of the program is of the highest expectations.
Past topics included “animal brains”, “ecosystems”, “endangered species awareness”, “animal skulls”, “crocodilians of the world”, “boas of the world”, “snakes… big and small”, “animal anatomy”, and “amphibians and their life cycle”.
Topics are to be announced based on the interest of the LIT’s. They choose their own specific topics for Kids Club during the summer of 2010 and they will be posted here in September.
